The Cruz Habitat Protection Project, A.C. is a Mexican not-for-profit organization that owns land on which a demonstration forest is being grown for use as an educational resource.
Important Funding Partners include October Hill Foundation, American Forests, Greater Good Foundation and a variety of small foundations and individuals.
The Haitian People’s Support Project, Inc. – HPSP – Our collaborator on the Forest for Haiti initiative. This 501(c)3 non-profit organization was founded in 1990 in Woodstock, New York, and is dedicated to helping the people of Haiti by supporting existing grassroots and community based projects.
HPSP’s Cofounder and President, Pierre Leroy, a retired teacher of English, Spanish and French, (3rd from right) was born in Haiti to a position of relative privilege. During the repressive Duvalier era, Pierre, at the time a university student, was forced to leave his beloved homeland. He spends part of each year in Haiti working with various projects. Terry Leroy (2nd from right), also a retired teacher and reading specialist, along with her husband Pierre, cofounded HPSP. Terry visits Haiti often and went to Forests for Haiti Project in Bois Neuf in July 2011 when she was helping establish a literacy program.

Spirit of Butterflies is a personal tour company that arranges for small groups to visit the nursery, and areas of deforestation and reforested sites, as well as the reserves where millions of monarchs overwinter. They contribute a percentage of their fees to the project.
